Ideal for DIY projects that require more than a simple mount

Buying an unfamiliar product always makes you feel better when you see other people using it in a multitude of DIY YouTube videos. a standard QR plate in your pocket, but that's for projects, not your main setup. For a quick versatile do-it-yourself quick assembly, this thing is great! It holds up better than some of my more expensive branded ball heads. So far I've used it for two things: to place/hold a video camera attached to a lighting support on stage and as a mount for my DIY barn. - aโ€ฆ

In a good way, the grips are rubberized and feel quite nice.

Amazing price for a simple but very durable tripod head. The device's rotational resistance, while highly adjustable, is still quite effective for smooth panoramic shots. I bought this to provide a lightweight rotating fluid mount on a slider and it served that need very well. The device is quite heavy for its size, the grips are rubberized and feel pretty nice and responsive. Overall I'm really surprised at the very low price of this solid little head. While this is not a complaint given theโ€ฆ

Good. But not standard disk size.

Here's the thing. All in all, it's a cheap alternative that seems okay with one downside so far. It will only fit the included Arca nameplate. I've tried other plates like Arca and the jaws just didn't open wide enough. Luckily I had the foresight to buy an extra baseplate and I was lucky they didn't weld or glue the baseplate to the ball. So I just removed their base plate and replaced it with the one provided in the link and the problem was solved. However, I shouldn't have done it. Theโ€ฆ

Pleasantly surprised

Bought this head for a couple uses as "I don't care if I hit it". Given the low price, my expectations were just as low, but I'm really surprised at how good it is. I use it with a Nikon D810 and while it's definitely not designed for larger glass, it does quite well at 70-200 (on a tripod base of course). Ball lock is strong, brakes are good. The bubble levels are a nice touch (the one in the handle lock is clever). I was happy to see that there is a "lock" on the wedge plate, so if you don'tโ€ฆ

NO 1/4 to 3/8 adapter included. But still great!

For about 40 cents they could put the adapter in the box. However, this is exactly what you are hoping for when you spend a little and even more. He adapts to everything and is REALLY well built. Nothing feels cheap or tacky, the moves are heavy enough to let you know they're going to stay there once you're locked in. It's just better than expected in every way. Most people who buy this have a low to medium height tripod with a 1/4" male thread coming out of the top shoe. You'll need to matchโ€ฆ

We bring the old tripod back to life.

I have an old Focal tripod (K-Mart) that I like - it's only 62" but aluminum, only 3#, and has cam foot adjusters. has a dovetail QD plate that has lost the rubber pad and was therefore no longer fitted. I couldn't find any replacement platters that seemed to fit, but I did find this replacement head that fits newer grooved platters and bolts directly on (almost*). It looks like it's all metal so I think it should be durable. It has two knobs to lock the ball in place (one large and oneโ€ฆ

This Pergear is really very nice to have

For a cheap tripod head (not a cheap feeling) this Pergear is actually very nice to have. Having said that, I have to say that if you have a heavy DSLR like mine and add the weight of the lens, the head won't be able to lock into position when tilted; Of course, my camera doesn't usually tilt on its own. If it's tilted a little, it's usually on a tripod and I hold it up for stability. If you still don't get it, tilt the camera (heavy like my 5d mark 3) and let go, after a short while it willโ€ฆ

A good product. for tripods and monopods

Before buying, I looked at a review on YouTube. There are two handles that tighten the ball. Upon checking, the guy didn't know why. There's a good reason for that. The smaller grip should be tight enough to allow the camera to move freely and still support the weight when released (once the desired stiffness is set, this knowledge rarely needs adjusting and it is camera dependent). weight with lens). The second big knot (the one with "Lock and Loose") is to lock the camera position once you've
