I bought these in preparation for a 2 week motorcycle tour of Europe and I definitely enjoyed them. I have the medium ones (I have a 32 waste) which fit perfectly and were snug enough without the belt. Some people wear them as overpants, but for me they were comfortable enough to wear as casual hiking pants while enjoying the views of France, Switzerland and Italy. I had no mobility issues getting on and off the rental GS 1200 (not a short bike) and they kept me dry to the bone during the occasional mountain downpour. The zip was compatible with my Oxford 2.0 riding jacket, so it was a nice feature to keep my jacket from slipping off if I fell (fortunately I didn't). The built in knee pads were a little lower than my actual knees, but you can lift them up a bit for better positioning. The other was that with the liner they get pretty hot in case the temperature creeps up on you and you maybe sweat a little. This makes removing the pants a bit difficult as the lining gets stuck to the legs and the buttons holding the lining on each leg can easily come loose. For me personally it's fine, just toss the liner in the wash and have a beer after a long ride and you'll be fine. In general 5 stars from me, I recommend!
