The hand reach is actually longer than the flexible flex bindings you see most often. I had 3 of these mounts and they all broke. It doesn't seem to have the problem of constantly flexing back and forth, so at first glance and with use it looks like it will hold up. However, I like its maneuverability as it is much more maneuverable and position adjustable than you might initially think. My only concern is that the screw you use to tighten the headboard mount is ridiculously long. So if you can't attach them to the opposite side of the headboard (i.e. if you are forced to attach a screw to the side of the headboard). ) it may disturb your head if you sleep very close to the headboard. But again, this is only a potential problem if the head of the bed is right up against the wall.
