Review on Philips 241E1S Frameless LED Monitor ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ - 1920X1080, 75Hz, Flicker-Free, Blue Light Filter by Alecjandro Skeen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very good value for money with one exception.

One of the reasons I chose the Philips monitor (besides the included 4 year warranty) was the fact that there were very few open Philips monitors for sale online compared to the hundreds from other manufacturers. Since a large number of open-packaged items for sale is usually a sign of a return caused by dissatisfied customers, I think Philips' low scores are a good indicator of quality. I've been using this monitor for about six months now and so far I'm very happy with the picture quality and performance. The controls are very easy to use and I was able to figure out how to make adjustments without consulting the manual. This monitor has a "Smart Contrast" function that automatically creates a very high quality image when it is switched on. without having to make a series of tedious adjustments. I use this feature when I need super high quality, but turn it off when I'm just doing normal tasks. I tested for dead pixels with various color screens and couldn't find any, so I was very happy about that. .The only downside that made me deduct a star from the rating is that there is quite a bit of flare in the bottom right corner of the monitor. On closer inspection, I noticed that the plastic frame of the monitor is slightly deformed (wavy) at this point, which is probably the cause of the bleeding. As I'm not used to viewing darker images or movies in low light, this bleeding issue isn't noticeable enough to make me return the monitor. Let's hope this is just a manufacturing defect affecting this monitor and not a general issue.
