It works well, it's inexpensive, and that's basically what you get. Of course, the quality is not at the highest level, the price corresponds to the quality of the ironing pad. The silicone pad is sewn to the matte pad. It's the ironing type, I fixed it by buying carefully, spending 20 minutes taking it off the mat and undoing the stitching. Again it will do the trick, I don't know how long it will last, it's very light and thin, steaming cotton fabrics gets moisture on my kitchen counter. So it definitely won't protect any surface underneath. The beach towel I used did the job better. It's just ok, nothing fancy, I don't know if I recommend buying it unless you have something to use.
