It's not padded at all
If you go camping in the fall, winter or spring, that's fine, but in the summer, if you don't freeze the water in the bottle, it will get warm and won't hold much water. I like having a belt around my waist because it's easier to reach, but if I had to do it again I'd buy one that's more like a backpack and holds more water (and has room for ice cubes, to hold the water). cold This might be ok for a short hike, but not for a longer one.
