I had batteries lying around and never really knew if they were good, sort of good, or dead. When this battery tester arrived at our house, I immediately checked out all of my batteries to see what the status was with each one of them and put the bad ones in a box for recycling. Yes, as some people have stated, when they get down to the "good" status, the light is very dim or non existent. But I just take that as telling me that the batteries need to be replaced. It may not be totally perfect for everyone but I think it's a heck of a lot better than wracking your brain trying to figure out if a battery is good or not. Just another handy tool. I gave one to each of my kids for their family.
