I'm a fan of the company. I started with the countertop model and progressed to this one. Installation is ok. If you have a basic knowledge of plumbing, this shouldn't be too difficult. The only issue I had is that if you don't use the system for a day or two, the UV chamber heats up and the water takes on a plastic smell/taste. At first I thought I had a contamination so I bleached the system and installed all new filters. The same thing happened. I turned off the UV lamp and the problem did not reoccur. The TDS of the water hasn't changed with the plastic smell but I'm still concerned that my family and I have been exposed to it given that chamber is at the end of the process and who knows exactly what the TDS meter is measuring or Not. . I'm not a chemist to know if it's legal or not. I'll post more when I get a response from APEC on this issue. and maybe after talking to the pharmacist.
