I purchased this part #14250 along with Sigma part #14216, a single pole switch set that looks almost like a light switch that turns on and off but for outdoor use is appropriate You could, for example, control a street loudspeaker. Installation was easy, but that's where the good stuff ended. This product was nowhere near waterproof or even water resistant. I installed it on my backyard deck, and even though it was partially railed and closed on 2 sides (protected from heavy rain), water was CONSTANTLY seeping into the box, shorting out the wires, rusting and corroding everything. metal inside. It didn't even last a season! I followed the instructions verbatim and installed it between the metal plates using this black sponge material to act as a rain barrier. However, whenever I tilted the device, a lot of water came out of the hole in the bottom of the box. In the end I gave up and took it off and just plugged my outdoor speakers straight in without any of that stupid "on/off" nonsense that advertises itself as "all weather" but apparently does NOT involve rain!
