First, don't use the hoses that come with the kit. Get a matched pair of GE 5654W bulbs, which you probably saw in the 'Customers who bought this also looked at' section. If not, then find and buy. The Chinese tubes it comes with don't really do anything you need a tube for, namely nice 2nd and 4th order harmonics that warm up the sound and widen the soundstage. Second, the op amps used are great, but it could benefit from a pair of $5 MUSES 8920 op amps. Ebay is the place for that. You'll need a shredder and some patience, but it will pay off. I use it to rub some tube funk onto my aux input on my home theater receiver. For a total of less than $100, I'm quite satisfied. Hell, if I were to start all over again, I might even skip the part where I have the receiver and hook this bad guy up to a direct power amp. Turn off the amplifier or powered speakers before turning off this unit to avoid cumulative speaker damage.
