You need this for glass cleaning. I've been using them for over a year now. The microfiber clothing is as advertised. They absorb dirt, dust, stains, etc. Just follow the instructions. Use a loose cloth to remove dust from the glasses carefully (ie without pressure) so that no material remains between the cloth and the glasses during the final cleaning. Some dust particles can scratch your lenses if you apply pressure while the dust is still on the lens. As one or two other people have pointed out, a brand new or newly cleaned cloth will remove stains, fingerprints, etc. even without the cloth. wet. But as advertised, putting a few drops of distilled water or a fine lens cleaning solution on a cloth will clean the lenses very well. You can get even better results by using an ultrasonic bath with cleaning solution and THEN drying with a microfiber cloth. But unless you're an optician, this is probably a bit of an overstatement. After the fabric gets dirty, you need to wash it. Washing hands is pretty much the way to do it; and wash microfiber clothing separately from everything else to keep fibers or other materials out of the water. The only situation I would use a machine is when you are in the shop washing hundreds of these cloths at once. I use regular dishwashing liquid like Palmolive. Do not use hand soap or other products with skin lotions or conditioners. Lotions and conditioners act like dirt, clinging to microfibers and reducing their effectiveness. Rinse the cloth very well. Someone suggested in a previous post to use a teaspoon of vinegar in water for the final rinse. I think it increases the stickiness of the clothes after drying and optimizes the results when cleaning your glasses. Allow the towels to air dry. I do not recommend using a tumble dryer. For a single user or household, one order of these wipes will last for years. They are of excellent quality at a comparatively very good price.
