I haven't stored them so I can't vouch for how they feel when wearing them. Upon arrival they were too stiff and bulky for panties. Felt like cardboard stuffed into panties. And the hard padding reached to the edge of the panty, giving the impression that it would chafe between the legs in the crotch area. It seemed that if I went down this route with panties, a really "softer" menstrual pad would be a better option. I opted for either soft boys underwear or just cycling shorts. Perhaps others who have actually worn them see it differently and/or they become softer after washing. Just not the kind of panty that suits me in terms of comfort for a nice bike ride.
