I tested this hand drill and it turned out great. When it arrived it was in nice packaging so I figured it was a quality tool. It also came in a canvas pouch, making it easy to store along with my other craft tools (the safety tip was a nice touch). At the moment I made a hammer and started making furniture with it. The bit is very sharp and the spot weld is very well done. I have had Scotch Eye drills before and they have never been of such quality. It was always difficult to find a good one. The lead screw is nice and long and holds so well on the wood. I've used it in a few hardwoods so far and have been very satisfied! This auger is even electrophoretically coated. Basically, if you don't know what it is, it creates a very strong, stable surface. I recommend this drill for your survival pack or if you just need a good settler key.
