We have received a large deluxe flyer for a 3 year old who is almost 4 years old. We received a product that was missing two key components. I'll clarify what was missing: 2 bushings (both bushings for 1 of the 2 rear wheels) essentially holding the rear axle in place. Apparently the bushings had to be preassembled at the factory. Strangely, one of the two sockets ended up in a material bag. We knew something was wrong when, after assembling the glider, it was found that one of the rear wheels was incredibly loose compared to the opposite rear wheel, and then we also noticed a large red chunk left over (turned out to be one of two). . bushings), which was not specified in the hang glider assembly instructions. We called Radio Flyer to fix a loose rear wheel and asked about an additional part that wasn't even mentioned in the owner's manual. After numerous email exchanges with photos of the rear wheel and this large add-on part, we were told it was indeed a hub that should have been pre-assembled at their factory. I'll spare the reader this whole story as it turns out that without this critical part the trike (now assembled) becomes completely inoperable, dangerous and irreparable. Luckily we were smart enough to call Radio Flyer and ask, but I suspect some people may have just let their child ride the tricycle as there is no way to tell if parts are missing from a tricycle when those parts are delivered need in advance. -collected. It's an incredibly scary thought that this could be ignored in the quality control process and potentially lead to a lawsuit for a company with serious injury and possible death to the driver. We ended up sending the assembled but non-functional trike back to Revain and ordering a new one. We were frustrated that Radio Flyer wasted our time getting us to fix an issue that couldn't be solved due to the lack of jacks. We only took the risk because our son wanted the bike so badly. However, we took the new trike with extreme caution, telling ourselves it would be our last try. Luckily at this point we knew what to look for to ensure all pre-assembled parts were present in the interchangeable glider as there was poor quality control at their factory. Another thing worth noting (also mentioned in other reviews) is that the plastic is cheap and flimsy. My son was able to reach the pedals while seated with the backrest in the position closest to the large front wheel. However, he still hasn't fully grasped the concept of kicking. Our oldest child (7 years old and 65 pounds) had a blast driving it. It seemed to support her weight quite well, but I doubt the tricycle will last for many years as it's made of cheap materials - I'll have to upgrade it over time. Please BUY this trike with caution! You may end up with a trike that is missing pre-assembled parts that you are not even aware of because they are not mentioned in the assembly instructions.
