The only problem I had was understanding the setup. Pour in 2 full carafes of water when using for the first time. All this water will flow to the reservoir. After 15 minutes, when the water is hot, THEN pour the coffee grounds into the filter, then add the THIRD carafe of water and close the lid. Your coffee is ready in 4 minutes (for a full carafe). The tank provides hot water for instant coffee brewing. The third carafe replaces the hot water taken from the tank for your current drink. This heats up and is ready for the next carafe. The coffee maker is designed to work 24/7. Otherwise, you have to turn it on and wait 15 minutes for the tank to heat up. Once hot, add the base, add water and after 4 minutes it's done. Makes good coffee! I don't like it when it's heavy, so with a round showerhead that soaks through the entire soil, I find using just 4 scoops of soil per full pot is ideal.
