Works like a flash drive, poor build quality

lcwamy 3.0 64GB USB Flash Drive 3.0 64GB Flash Drive 3.0 64GB USB Stick 64GB USB3.0 Flash Drive 3.0 64GB Swivel USB Flash Drive USB 3.0 64GB Flash Drive 64GB Flash Drive at speeds up to 90MB/s USB151 The Flash Drive comes in a transparent reusable plastic box with the manufacturer's name on it, you can see why, and is sold on the top and a 64GB sticker on the side. Inside the transparent box is a simple foam cutout with a flash drive. The main body of the flash drive is in fact made out of bamboo, with a hollowed out section that houses the electronics. It also has a hinged metal cover like the cheaper flash drives. The manufacturer's name is emblazoned on the metal stick, but there is no information about the flash drive. I like my USB sticks to have an information sticker or capacity stamp so if I need to grab one urgently I can see the capacity right away. I can feel the sticker on the outside of the box and stick it on the flip top so I have that information in the future. The stainless steel part that connects to your computer isn't shiny or polished as usual, oh, there's some sediment on that part and there's actually a fingerprint on the rest. I assume it's the glue they used to hold the two parts of the drive together. In my opinion there is a kind of poor quality control. Bad taste in a product that you spend more money on to get a quality device. Now for the actual operation of the disk - a 64GB disk will be formatted to 58.5GB, which is normal for any disk of this size. The file structure occupies a specific space in memory. The drive is exfat partitioned but I will reformat it to NTFS as it is more compatible with most of my devices. It's probably a good idea to format any new drives you get anyway, since you never know what little bits are left on the drive. Who knows how real the transfer rate is. I don't have a scientific method to test this, but when transferring As many of my files will be transferred from one computer to another, it seems to work for most USB 3 drives. So is this drive worth the money? On the outside, it looks great until you start looking closely at the details. Internally, it works much like any other USB 3.0 drive. You have to decide for yourself whether the cool bamboo case is worth the extra charge. With quality control on the device I have I would not recommend it.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
