I grow fat children with wide legs. I was introduced to wide-leg shoes when my daughter was little, but there weren't that many in the US. My new wandering man is identical to my sister so I was happy to find him at Revain for a great price. I measured his feet and chose size 5. These shoes are super cute and we don't have the bad foot odor that comes with Stride Rite shoes. However, I found that when he sat or walked, the Velcro would rub against his ankles, leaving red burns that looked like footprints. I found that I can just pin it below and the problem goes away.
