Isolation spikes are a tool used to isolate speakers from the floor or other surface and prevent unwanted resonance. In my case, the subwoofer is installed on a wooden floor in my living room. The resonance of the floor really affects the sound negatively, making the bass more pronounced and muffled. It's hard to describe. Using these spikes greatly improved the sound and produced cleaner bass. The spikes are supplied in a cardboard box with foam cut outs. The set contains 8 parts, four spikes and four sockets for spikes. The spikes are made of brass and the bases are made of machined anodised aluminium. Both have rubber grommets to keep them in place. I'm not a fan of the silver and purple metal stripes on the bases as the lettering feels cheesy and unnecessary, but overall they look good. These spikes aren't expensive, but they do the job pretty well. I'm not an audiophile but I could tell the difference they made.
