Know where it is when you get off the back of the truck.

This has been on my F-150 for over 4 years. Installation was easy, just two screws. Very well made, fairly solid body and working mechanism. It folds out to a reasonable height, making it easy to get into the bed with the tailgate down. Unlike the 'other' brands that have a step in the bumper that's still too high for us guys with more time under our belts. Can be easily extended and retracted with your foot. It retracts with a "bang" but the rubber bumper protects it from damage. Four years later it still works and looks great. At 230 pounds, he gets along with me easily. Will not bend when in use. You just have to pay attention to where it is when you get off the bed when you step back and you really don't see it when the tailgate is down, but the foot can only go down in a certain range and that's it not difficult. that at all. I even forgot to put it back and rode it all day and it didn't scratch anything. This comes in really handy for us guys who just can't jump into bed like we used to.
