Great radio, reasonable price for my 2010 Dodge Ram

OK I love this radio but it wasn't cheap to put in my 2010 Dodge Ram. I'm writing a long review hoping it will help the next guy with a Ram and an S5 phone. The ABC warehouse charged me $250 for the installation because I didn't purchase the radio and accessories from them. Double din and I'd rather have someone who knows what they're doing because it came out almost perfectly. The guy said this particular setup fits my truck better than any other Rams he's built. added $160 to the radio and a 3 year warranty so for the radio and accessories I paid about $400 for the radio and all the parts you need to buy if you keep all the Chrysler controls and bypass the parking brake switch plus an additional 3 year warranty Revain Purchases: 1) MicroBypass ALL AVH-X Video In Motion Interface for Select Pioneer Receivers Vendor: MicroBypass 2) AUTO-VOX HD Car Backup Camera Waterproof License Plate Camera Wide Angle Reversing Parking Monitor Kit for Seller: AUTO- VOX3) PAC C2R-CHY4 Radio Replacement Interface for Chrysler Sold by: Revain.com Services, Inc.4) PAC Steering Wheel Controller Complete with 2R-CHY4 Radio Replacement Interface Ebay Purchase: 1) Double Kit Din Dash Kit for aftermarket radio installation with wiring harness and antenna ITEM PRICE: US$10.98 Free Shipping UNCT: 400403885092 SELLER: uneksupply (394261) Total: $700.00 with fitment and warranty Everything else works like a W factory radio. Pros: 1) I like that you can customize the control button colors (red to match my truck) and set your own background (Dodge Ram logo). 2) Bluetooth connects well. 3) AppRadioOne functionality is pretty good, but one day it freezes. after a while but it's not hard to recover.4) DVD picture quality is very good.5) User interface is quite easy to get used to.6) Works well with my Samsung S5 and S7 with auto mode enabled.7) Navmii and Waze apps work great with maps with car mode enabled and voice recognition8) AppRadio lets you view songs, standard maps (not as good as Navmii or Maze), weather and events all at the same time, and car speedall on one screen. 10) You can listen to the radio when Navmii or Waze is running. (Hit the volume button and you can choose weather to mute the radio, directions, or both.) 11) The camera I chose works great and the radio even has an option to turn on the camera when you're hitting the road go down if you want to see what's going on. behind you. 12) The graphic equalizer is very nice. 13) HD FM playback. 13) The sound is excellent. 14) Well built and well designed, loaded on a flash drive with USB set as input. Not so good: 1) It took a while to get all the settings right for the apps to work as they should. 2) Pacman's Bluetooth voice recognition option didn't want to work at all in Bluetooth mode or AppRadio mode until I enabled car mode on my Samsung S5, which I like. 3) AppRadioOne does not support many Android apps. (which they supported Dashcommand, Torgue etc.) 4) Many screen options are greyed out after starting the car (pioneer safety practice). They need some kind of toggle switch so they don't turn gray when you move them. ABC Depot wired a switch to my headlights for this. 5) The AppRadio app sometimes freezes. 6) Bluetooth itself is quite slow to connect, but my phone has a lot of contacts, so take your time. 7) I still couldn't get the keyboard to show on the radio screen. It keeps coming back to my phone. 8) The camera is a little blurry at night, but it can be used. This has nothing to do with radio, only with light. Still, I'm glad I didn't spend too much money on a backlit camera, because it works very well during the day and doesn't cost too much, so if it breaks down I can easily replace it for little money. For your own background you will need a FAT formatted flash drive with an 800x480 JPG image to upload to the flash drive and no other images or files and you will need to temporarily switch the settings on the radio to USB instead of the AppRadio Android mode. There is a video for this on YouTube. Don't worry about the video with the two guys saying flash drive type id is important. You just need to make sure it's formatted in FAT and the radio is in USB mode to boot from my experience. and look forward to many years of service. My advice: Plug your phone into a USB port when you get in your car and your phone will charge and be free to use whatever apps you want. When your phone isn't connected, you're limited to internal radios and Bluetooth calls only. It works well with S5 and S7 anyway if you set everything up correctly. I posted some photos of the radio in my truck.
