I read the reviews before deciding to use this hitch receiver. I figured I would never tow anything close to the 7500lb capacity Rubicon with the Class IV. So you don't have to pay more, do all the extra plumbing, and find a buyer for a factory ball hitch. So my carving, like others, was partially covered. I turned the giant pan head screw back and forth a few times to remove the plating. I also had some rust so I cleaned it before installing. Speaking of the plating, the plating is incredibly thin everywhere. The coating on the edges had chipped away, revealing the bare metal underneath. It would be nice to apply several coats of paint for rust protection. My Rubicon came with a steel rear bumper that was attached from the bottom with a threaded rivet nut. To install it, I had to unscrew the factory Torx T50 screws. The bolt and washer caught in the rivet nut. I've found that separating the washer and bolt on the guide wire makes it easier to slide them onto the rivet nut. Once they were over the rivet nut, they converged and the bolt went through the washer. I've tried this several times with this through washer bolt and it always hangs due to the larger profile of their connection. After one side was completed, this technique would light up the other side. I used blue Loctite and tightened it to spec. I filled the hole with putty and covered the hole with a Mopar symbol. All in all, installation is easy enough if you get a little creative. .
