4/3/18 Extra. ONLY purchase this flashlight if you have contact cleaner handy AND you are willing to drill the base of the switch a bit. Otherwise, buy flashlights for $15-$20. The problem is that the metal contacts on the on/off switch on the cheaper lamps are badly corroded and will work intermittently after a few days and eventually stop working after a few weeks. Date of 1st check = mid-April 2018 :: Within two or three weeks the on/off switch started to work intermittently. You had to shake it or tap it to make it work. The switch finally died completely after 10 months. The problem with the switch also seems to get worse with rechargeable batteries. The battery voltage drops faster than conventional non-rechargeable batteries. Incidentally, the bulbs are not interchangeable. They are a tiny component mounted on a circuit board. I suggest you try to find a light that has little to no switch issues. Addendum to the original review (15:45, 04/26/18): I'm trying to fix a problem with a broken switch on my second lamp. I drilled a few holes (3/32" or less) in the white plastic "washer" at the base of the canopy. Try not to drill through the metal under the plastic. Then I put the contact cleaner in the Sprayed holes and gave the nib a few turns.I let the cleaner dry fully before installing the base as it is highly flammable.See photos.Cycled the light 3-4 times and got a bright continuous light Light. 4/3/2018 3rd comment added. It's been a week since I've used contact cleaner. Flashlight still works great. No flickering, no switch knock and still works great. 5/19/18 Added 4th comment. Started won't turn on properly Sprayed with contact cleaner AGAIN, probably less annoying/frustrating, only buying more expensive headlights I spoke to a manufacturer and they said they never had a desc hbe had about a faulty switch. I will post more results here after using the light for a few weeks. Keep your fingers crossed.
