I started with the Deluxe Cat Fort and placed it as a mirror image of the instructions just because it better fits the overall layout of my living room. Once that was done I was pretty quick adding new parts and rearranging things to better suit my needs - quite a bit of fun planning new additions. The Catastrophic Creations website has some great planning tips if you want to add something extra or create something entirely of your own. Customer service is great - my first box was missing a part and they shipped it straight away with no issues. They asked for more details to make sure they fixed any issues with their process which is great. After installing almost everything, I found that part of my wall didn't have any studs (I think there used to be a wall mounted air conditioner) so I had to change the plan. I was fine with that - I liked the way the bridges looked and since they had a 3 stud bridge that would solve my problem. I contacted support again to ask if the bridge could be mounted on a sisal pole. - because my screws were too short. They assured me it was and included some very long furniture screws with my Bridge order for free. Overall, installing the fortress required patience and time, but it is not very difficult. I'm also very bad at anything drywall and drilling related and I got through it without cussing too much. Just read the instructions, watch the video and take your time. So far my ragdoll LOVES this fort. He basically claimed this was his kingdom. My other two cats look at it and from time to time I find one sitting on a shelf. I've had it for about a month now and am already planning new additions for the next wall so I can get it over with. this tree to make room on the ground. I think having some other sections might give more ground for other kitties to use comfortably. My house is very small, so it's great to have sturdy, attractive cat furniture that doesn't take up valuable floor space. It sounds expensive, but actually all the more solid big cat apartments are in this price range - but then you have to live with an ugly, smelly carpet in your well-designed home, and that's just not an option for me. All of the canvas strips here are easy to remove for washing, and the ability to adjust and rearrange things to keep them interesting for cats is excellent. The products look great and it's great to support a small business run by people who are passionate about the animals they build for.
