The bike computer was my first purchase after an accident when I realized I needed a working phone while cycling. Previously, Strava was used to map my rides and I didn't have cadence information. For the price, this is a great gadget. I won't go into the technical details as they are available on the product page, but I want to list the features that I find the most useful. I like the ability to connect G+ and ANT+/Bluetooth. This allows pairing with any sensor that has the appropriate connectivity. It is helpful to be able to program the device via the phone software. Makes it easy to configure settings and your preferences. Backlighting makes evening driving much easier. It claims to have a built in barometer which I believe is used to determine altitude. The built in battery is good and I've only charged it once since I've had it. After this charge I used the device for about 20 hours. Pairing the sensors wasn't that easy. Living in a world where devices work right out of the box and connect automatically just by turning them on, I have to admit my expectations were similar. It was a little tricky, but there are plenty of YouTube videos that explain the process. Basically you have to enter setup mode by pressing both buttons and then make sure the sensors are close by. Keep moving the sensors and wear your heart rate monitor so it can connect to your device. As soon as the symbols stop flashing, the sensors are connected. This only needs to be done initially when pairing sensors for the first time or when adding a new sensor. This is required for the sensors to display device pairing data. After I figured out how to connect the sensors, everything works without problems. Similarly, connect your Strava account to the XOSS app before traveling or using your device. The first time I tried it, the game had an error. I disconnected and reconnected Strava and everything worked. You also need the XOSS app to import data, which is then sent to Strava. The device has an integrated GPS that can be used to ensure that your route is recorded. The GPS feature here is not designed to give you direction. That wasn't my expectation but I understand that this may be misleading for some. The guides need some work and I wouldn't rely on them. Luckily there are several YouTube videos. I chose the G+ for the added benefits of ANT+ connectivity and heart rate monitoring. Other functions are similar. The XOSS application is good, but I want to eliminate the middle man. It would be nice if I could import directly into Strava or TrainingPeaks without using the XOSS app. This is perhaps the only complaint. All in all a great little device with GPS, speed, cadence and heart rate connectivity (sensors need to be purchased separately). Highly recommend buying this device if you are cycling and don't need performance data or step by step instructions.
