I really wish I would like this clock radio as I can't think of anything more useful than spending days buying a great alarm clock (well yes, except for a few trips to the grocery store in the same day!) As there are already quite a few reviews on this product I will address a few things I would like to know or can easily learn about it. before buying: - bright - too bright for me. My wife loves the dark room but I'm not the type to have a problem with all those pesky little lights we usually have in our bedrooms these days. But the thing is too bright for me. It has three display backlight settings: low (too bright); medium (great for reading I suppose, or as a bulky flashlight); high (ideal for signaling landing aircraft). Seriously, to say the numbers are BIG and easy to read (from the other side of the house) is an understatement. - The alarm is hard to set - The alarm is pretty big (see this little thing that toggles between off, alarm and radio. And every night it's the same old thing - try to gently flip the switch from off to alarm, but it takes 2-3 tries to turn on the alarm compared to setting the radio (for the alarm) and the only way I know of to make sure it's actually installed and in the right position to check visually - large - You should see this on your bedside table to fully appreciate the scope of this thing. It's not so much the footprint (although it's definitely larger than others I've had) but the vertical. I don't have many things on my bedside table: a touch lamp, a bottle of water, a Kindle, and an alarm clock since it's big enough that you'll have a hard time getting past it if it's between you and anything else on the night There is enough light on the table for you to see things you can't easily reach! And if you move it far enough to reach a lamp or water bottle, the pesky little alarm button is almost impossible to find when the alarm goes off. - Alarm volume - I don't usually need a loud alarm. but it's worth mentioning for those who do. Considering the size of this thing, it's safe to assume it's going to have a very loud buzzing alarm. But not like this. If I was fast asleep, I would wonder if that would actually wake me up. The radio is more flexible because you can increase the volume of the radio. Conclusion: If I had to do it again, I wouldn't buy it. Right now I'm turning it face down to fix the light issue and hoping to wake up before the alarm goes off so I don't have to struggle to find the now misplaced switch.
