Review on TransOurDream Tru Iron Transfers Paper Printable Heat T Shirts by Amber Perez

Replaced Avery paper, Very Good

I always make custom t-shirts for my child for school. He likes things that are not easy to find in the store (garbage truck, Oscar the Grumpy, trash can, etc.). For the last 2 years I have used dark Avery T-Shirt transfer paper and it has been great. I make 5 shirts, wear them every week, wash and dry them every week. After a year they looked worn but ok (he still wears them) then Avery's price got too high and I was apprehensive about buying the brand. BUT, so far so good. Made 6 shirts. I washed and dried my shirts the day before and then didn't wash them again until I wore them so they lasted a week or more. We are now 4 weeks at school and each shirt has been washed and dried over 4 times and the photos show no signs of wear yet. They won't crack or fade. I wash them inside out in cold water using Kirkland brand capsules (no fabric softener but sometimes with a fragrance enhancer) and dry them on a medium continuous press (no dryer sheets, just balls of wool). I used 100% cotton Walmart brand shirts in a variety of colors. The only thing that didn't work was I had a black shirt which looked great, the printed image was a light blue sky with white clouds and the black of the shirt made it look greyish and I can see the black showing through. In the following I use dark gray as the darkest shirt, if the picture has a light background. Maybe I've been stroking the picture for too long. I set the iron to cotton and ironed the shirt first so it's hot, put the image on and pressure iron the vinyl for 5 minutes. This would melt the vinyl allowing you to see the black of the shirt showing through. For the price and the number of pages you get, this is a good Avery alternative.
