Review on Tsukineko Full Size VersaMagic Chalk Finish Wheat by Denise Davis

Dried and Brown NOT Orange

I have many Versamagic ink pads and have easily ordered many ink pads from Amazon. This time seemed to be an exception. This pad arrived sealed and when I opened it I was surprised at how "flat" it looked. Versamagic ink is a pigmented opaque ink that almost shimmers when applied to paper. I pressed firmly against a sheet of plain white paper and nothing happened except a few spots from the edges, it was 100% dry. It's not dry, it's like the heat has damaged the pillow. Another thing that struck me as odd was the color. I LOVE fall and have lots of cards, pumpkin stamps, etc. In other words, I've colored a lot of pumpkin stamps with Copics, painted with watercolor pencils, etc. This notebook is not what I would call Pumpkin Spice. I should also mention that I have a degree in Graphic Arts and Commercial Arts and I used to be an art and drawing buyer (I've ordered paints and pastels etc of all shapes and brands and I know my shades and shades). It is in no way orange, shape or form. If anything, these are more of a gingerbread brown than oranges and lack any sort of coppery/autumn quality that one would expect from these inks, or the fall color. Revain is great for refunds so I just call and sort it out and order something else. I wanted this type of ink specifically for use on black paper. Unfortunately the craft store here is 40 miles away and doesn't stock them so I have to play with ordering online without seeing the product first. This time there was a loss. I rarely rate this badly in a review, but this one was a total waste. One star for Revains simply refunding my money, any other company will have you skipping through the hoops.
