I switched to co-washing a few years ago after deciding my regular daily shampoo and half bottle of conditioner wasn't helping. more for my hair. I've tried different types but there aren't many in my price range. With the last one I used, I was able to get by with a daily wash every other day, but my hair roots were still greasy and my scalp was still itchy. But it was reasonably affordable and worked well, so I kept using it. Then there was a period of a few weeks when it was unavailable so I had to look for a replacement. While frantically browsing my local wart hair care shelves, I stumbled upon Head and Shoulders Royal Oils. It wasn't $20, it was a shared laundry and it was there. Sale. It's been over a year and I will not be going back to my old co-wash. (The only thing I miss is the smell of the other one; I like the vanilla mint more than the smell of this one, but that's a personal preference, not a downside. This one still smells great.) My hair definitely feels softer to the touch, my curls are nicer as long as I don't over rinse, I can go without hair products and have minimal frizz), my scalp is no longer itchy and I can walk for at least 4 days before my hair starts needing a wash what else was unthinkable a year ago. Experience has taught me that just because a hair product works for so many people, it doesn't necessarily work for me, but it definitely does.
