One star off because the thread wasn't knotted and disappeared into the rubber band on the first try. However, the elastic waist is quite thick and elastic; So I don't see the line being all that's needed in the long run. Also for thinner children. The material is not too thin but thinner than other brands of winter pants we have had. I think the material is comparable to the material of pants sold in big stores. Fit and length are really good. Overall I would recommend them! At the time of writing this review our son was about 1.50m tall.
