🏞️ Rugged Ridge 17212.13 Elite Antenna Base: Black for Jeep Wrangler & Gladiator Review

There's nothing special about it other than it gives a nice side view of the jeep and it's very easy to install. Installed on a 2018 Wrangler JLU Rubicon.

My factory plastic case has cracked (don't know how) so instead of replacing it with the same thing I want to go the RR route. Much better looking and easier to install. Recommended fit - 19 JLUR

I was looking for something to replace the old faded plastic cover that was on my Jeep that came with the Rugged Ridge. Looks great, feels good, nice and heavy material. Definitely a quality product! There is nothing wrong with what Rugged Ridge produces.

Looks great on my jeep, discreet but effective. As for that small gap that people complain about, yes there is, but it's the same as the stock camera you shoot. As for the aftermarket upgrade, it's a cheap way to get it, but it's aftermarket so it's not going to be ideal, folks.

Very easy installation, anyone with an 8mm socket and a set of Allen keys can do it in ten minutes or less. Remove the original antenna with a wrench or pliers. Use the channel locks to unscrew the old black fastener. Place the rubber washer on the base and then hold the new black bracket over it. Line up the holes and use Allen screws to install. It's aluminum, so don't overtighten.

Base very nice mod. Although metal is more durable I would prefer plastic as it does not conduct heat like metal. The base is very close to body color and actually melted my clear protective film at the contact points. I will try adding extra padding and silicone lining the underside of the base for more insulation against hot weather but leaving gaps in the underside of the skin to allow water to drain. Despite these issues, I highly recommend it because it looks really good.

You can use pliers and tear it off. or wrap several layers of masking tape around it to protect the finish and use a shaping tool to loosen and remove. 2.
