Price fair After purchasing and programming and cutting at a local locksmith, the cost of both keys was around $120. Much cheaper than buying directly from the dealer. However, both of my keys were fitted with a weak transponder chip which the car could not read, although external devices could say and say the chip was good. The locksmith spent 30 minutes getting it working before replacing the real chips with their own transponders, after which the programming worked. My overall cost would be $40 cheaper if I didn't have to buy transponder chips.
