Honestly I didn't think it would work. But I thought to try. It is important to find and tune to the desired frequency. If you don't do this, it won't work. Once I found a frequency that caught my dogs attention, I waited. As soon as they started barking, I blew the whistle and they stopped immediately. And it has worked every time, except for our oldest dog, but that's because she's almost deaf. It has a great strap and I always wear it when I'm around the house. This whistle is not silent. You will hear it. This doesn't bother me or anyone in the house because hearing the whistle for a moment wins the whistle compared to 3 mini doxies barking continuously for several minutes.
