Extremely durable. I used it to replace one of those cheap accordion style wooden stands I've had (and repaired) for years. You definitely don't need a repair. If installed correctly, it will definitely not come out of the wall and will not collapse. Pay attention to your own fastening screws. The ones that are there are so terrible. They undress immediately. I have read the previous reviews and can confirm this. You will need a 1.5-2" plaster and swivel screw and possibly a drywall expander. After that, some serious mantle hanging may be required. And there is a downside. Dog leashes, random items dig in when not in daily use as they conveniently slide down a crevice and you slap coats and hats on them. That will never happen. a more amazing replacement for an umbrella stand / standing clothes rack, but for a manure picker out front. It works much better than your regular peg system. Aside from the expected problem with the screw, we had a small situation where one of the pieces was attached in a way that didn't slide easily. We had to use cloth to protect the piece and the wooden floors and carefully thresh the pieces until they were in place. So not 100% perfect. Get ready and relax. It may not be a 5 minute install. But the item itself is very durable and properly installed, you will never come home with a pile of clothes on the floor.
