Bought to know where my dog is when he is following someone and to know if he is walking alongside the highway. The first unit worked very well for about 3 weeks until the handheld's antenna fell off due to a loose internal nut. I didn't want to take it apart and fix it and void the warranty so I sent it back and ordered another one. The new one worked 4 days and then found neither himself nor the dog. The shock function continued to work. Called tech support and they messed with him for an hour and said he needed to calibrate the compass (nonsense but already done). The search for satellites could take about 10 minutes (nonsense, the first one was not found). Couldn't turn inside out or never found itself (first one worked fine). We had to calibrate the compass in each new field we hunted. (Huh?) Eventually they told me that they just received a batch of new handhelds and they were going to send me one because mine was bad. Expect 3 weeks. I told you I'm trying to keep my pup alive, can you ship him faster? Yes, but I have to pay for the second day of broadcasting. Ok I agreed and then the lady told me they would pay. Good better. It took the squad a week to get there and again they didn't know where he was or where the dog was. support again. Now they tell me they understand that the satellite is not working and therefore their trackers are not working. I have no idea why they would depend on satellites other than GPS satellites (other GPS worked fine). I was told that the new satellite should come out on Wednesday and work on Friday. Today is Saturday, and of course it's fine again. Questions: Why should they use satellites other than GPS satellites? Can I rely on their satellites to be operational? I don't think I will send them back. If it works, it's great.
