They do exactly what they advertise. The adhesive on the back is not ordinary 3M. Be careful removing the backing as the adhesive is not optimal and I tried to peel off the backing of both of my strips. But the glue at least seems strong and should stick to pretty much anything in the car. I also have two of these lights on the wall above my computer desk. Update: After running these bulbs for less than 24 hours I already had a problem with one of the strips. This set was hung on the wall, not shaken etc. The light worked amazingly at first, then ended up with one of the RGB lights losing its red output. annoying but I guess that's what you get sometimes. It won't be too noticeable if you install them in a car with backlight etc. but pay attention to the quality of any display. Star deducted for poor quality control.
