Twenty years ago I put natural slate (and caulk) in the kitchen of my 1920's home. It gets lots of compliments, but it's not fun to groom. I've relied on another brand of cleaners/seals for decades, but they don't seem to sell their slate cleaner anymore (although this product shows up when searching for that name, so they may have changed hands). This product sounded almost identical to what I was using so I decided to give it a try. However, I did not use the product as a cleaner, instead I used it as a final reseal/clarification after completing a (heavy) very thorough cleaning process. My other product gave the stone a nice matte shine and lasted about a week. However, this product doesn't have that nice shine, but that's not a bad thing. My complaint about this product - compared to the older brand - is that it doesn't really last longer than the day it's applied; The stone faded again the next day. I suspect it doesn't have as many sealing qualities as the original brand, but it's a good second place.
