Review on Universal Ceiling Fan Control - Litex WCI-100 Wall Command with Full Range Dimmer and Three Speeds by James Eledge

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I was able to replace my 3 position switches with these (have to order 3 sets). Works perfectly!

At the top of the stairs to the second floor I had a simple lamp operated with three position switches (one at the bottom of the stairs, one at the top of the stairs). up the stairs and one next to the master bedroom). I decided to replace the fixture with a fan and light combination to improve airflow between floors. I didn't want to control both the fan and the light with those 3 position switches so I decided to see if they would work. And they work! It was a shame to order 3 complete sets because I needed 3 transmitters but 1 receiver, but the experiment was a success and I have additional receivers. transmitters to the code you have chosen (make sure they are all set to the same code). It's also great that you don't have to connect to the white wire in the junction box, you just plug the transmitter into any of the black wires in the box, it doesn't matter which one, and connect the ground wire to ground in the junction box. First I turned off the circuit breaker that feeds this circuit. I then removed any existing wall switches and then disconnected the red wire from each and insulated them with wire nuts (they are no longer needed and have no power). So make sure that other cables in the wall cannot be short-circuited). Then I mounted the receiver in the base of the ceiling fan - black from the ceiling to the black inlet, white in the ceiling to the white inlet, then to the black fan. black, white-white and blue-blue. Quite easy. I then connected one of the transmitters to each black wire in the junction box: black to black and black to black, green to bare copper in the junction box. The next step required me to move quickly to finish - I turned on the power switch, then had to run upstairs to the transmitter and hold the fan-off button on the transmitter for 3 seconds. The lamp will light up and blink twice, which means the receiver has been successfully paired with the transmitter. Now I could use the transmitter to turn the light on and off and control the fan speed. Since the other 2 transmitters were set to the same code, all I had to do was turn off the breaker and wire the other 2 transmitters the same way. Initially, no additional programming steps were required. Once I re-powered this circuit, I was able to control both the light and the fan from three locations! I am very satisfied with the result!
