The biggest problem I had was trying to figure out which part was wrong when I originally had a wiring problem. My fan/light came with a switch in the box very similar to this BUT it was for a wired situation. No matter what combination was used to connect, nothing worked properly. Unless your switch and box are wired specifically for the fan/light combination, the wired switch cannot work. Functionally identical to the Harbor Breeze control I bought from Home Depot about a year ago. I bought a new ceiling fan with a 16 code remote (4 dip switches) and wanted to add a wall remote.
