Fits perfectly, works great and easy to assemble. I got this for my VW convertible. This is an exact replacement and the machine runs better than ever. In my car you also need to remove the metal bracket that the ICM is attached to, otherwise it is impossible to remove the ICM. First disconnect the negative pole of the battery. There are two small screws on the top front of the bracket under the rubber housing gasket next to the bracket. Remove these two screws. There is a small plastic plug in the lower left corner of the bracket. Pull the bracket and it comes out. You now have a free mount. Use a screwdriver to pry the metal clip out of the ICM connector (the shiny clip that looks like a paperclip bends around the connector. This will prevent the connector from becoming loose). Now carefully disconnect the connection to the ICM. When removing the clip from the connector, gently pull on the connector to release it. Don't lose the clip and remember how it was attached. You don't have to remove the clip completely. Now, using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two self-tapping screws that secure the ICM to the bracket. Place the new ICM with the screws (in the same direction) on the bracket, return the bracket to its original position, insert and tighten the two small screws, and then press the corner down so that the plastic plug is inserted into the hole in the corner again. Now connect the connector and attach the metal bracket. ICM cannot be connected incorrectly. There are slots that allow you to connect the ICM to the connector only one way, so look, match and don't force it. Connect the negative battery terminal and start the car. Did.
