I've been using grip heads, and grip equipment in general, for my work for the last 20 years. So I've had all sorts of equipment pass through my hands in that time and I really, really despise poorly made camera, grip and lighting gear. Fortunately, this is a pretty nice head. It's made out of all metal and feels very solidly constructed. All the knobs spin smoothly and seem very durable. When I put an arm into this and tightened it down, it clamps down solidly and I don't feel like it's any more likely to fail than any other quality grip head I've used. Used properly, it should hold up just as I'd expect from my film gear.As one other reviewer noted, the finish is a bit glossy, which can contribute to unwanted reflections, though that's a common enough problem solved by some gaff tape or Duvetyne scraps draped on the stand. That said, I wouldn't have minded a bit more matte of a finish to knock down the shiniest of reflections, but that's a minor quibble.Overall, this seems to be an excellent value. Initial fit, finish and functionality are all what I'd expect from a piece of gear and so as long as it's durable, which I see no reason it wouldn't be, then this is an excellent addition to any grip kit.
