I like listening to music while cycling. And increasing the volume on my phone didn't help. I bought a cheaper 5 euro model. It worked but not louder than my phone. It's like the difference between day and night. It has a volume control. In fact, I had to turn the volume down when walking past people to avoid disturbing them. It also has a microSD card slot so you can play music WITHOUT your phone. Presumably you can answer your phone (assuming a Bluetooth connection), but I haven't tried. I did a 2 hour loop of music and NPR streaming from my phone and this speaker never went out. I'll be able to use this speaker this fall when I'm raking the lawn instead of my phone and headphones.
