This aftermarket Kenmore 14911 filter is a poor replacement for the original. The Kenmore 14911 filter is an OEM version of the Sears brand Essick HDC-12, also available under the MoistAir brand. This BestAir filter is a third party replacement. Unlike the OEM wick, the BestAir wick quickly stops working. For two months of winter operation, this wick stopped flowing at all. It was standing in the water, but the part of the wick that was above the water wasn't wet at all. The construction of the BestAir wick is also less durable than the OEM wick. While BestAir may be slightly cheaper than Kenmore or Essick MoistAir OEM wicks, this is false economy. You have to replace the BestAir filter much more often to match the performance of your humidifier, and even then you won't get the same humidification performance.
