Perfect for what we need it for; We haven't actually used it on the dishwasher (our new one plays a tune when it's done) BUT we've used it to bring the door from our garage into the house and laundry room; We have a front loading washer and dryer and when we're done washing a pile of clothes we leave the door open to let them dry/air out and upon entering the laundry wanted to remind ourselves not to rush in and throwing the laundry out the door open so we don't bump into the open door - so when we load up and open the door after changing the sign from 'dirty' to 'clean' so anyone using the laundry room enters, knows that he must be careful when entering! It worked really well!
