Ordered the 2.8-12mm version, received the 5-50mm version in a box marked 2.8-12. So far it meets my needs. The lens is sharper than expected when you are within the focus range. Zooming to 50mm doesn't focus very far. 7 or 8 feet is the maximum possible distance. This improves quickly as you scale down. The lens has a three-blade iris that closes in an arrowhead shape, creating a weird bokeh when out of focus. In addition, the image is vignetted quite heavily, and at a wide setting (5mm) there is a clear barrel distortion ("fish eye"). Attached pictures show. Blurred image at 50mm setting, subject was 12ft from camera and unable to focus. Another picture was taken at a 5mm setting and the doors were about 15 feet apart. The image sensor seems to be of high quality, I wish the lens was of better quality.
