These cooking utensils were great right out of the box. However, they are not dishwasher safe, and they also not do well with water, at all. If you are soaking a pot and toss them in the pot to soak as well, the wood handles will become very rough and uncomfortable to use. They also become weak where the wood meets the silicone- making them feel wobbly. The box it comes in says "dishwasher safe” on one side and on the other says "not dishwasher safe” and "do not soak”. Even though it says not to soak- it’s just difficult to completely avoid them coming into contact with water. Even using them in a pot of boiling water/liquid- you’d need to avoid letting the wooden handle come into contact with the liquid. Just not practical.
