These cartridges just DO NOT work

Loaded a black cartridge in my printer. Received a message "Not a genuine Epson cartridge" and the printer is completely locked. Searched the internet, tried all the workarounds but to no avail. I have bought remanufactured cartridges from other manufacturers in the past which have worked perfectly. Not so with these cartridges.
