Review on πŸ’ͺ Enhanced Performance Venum Elite Standup Shinguards by Bohyun Hansen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I should have bought them from the start.

I tried 2 pairs of shin guards before resorting to them. Why? Because like everyone else I wanted to save money and decided that other available shin guards couldn't be less valuable than the more expensive ones. I started with a $20 pair. It was very light and thin. I thought I understood something, I came to a Muay Thai class and had to learn it the hard way. My shins were killed. This little pad did absolutely nothing after 2-3 weeks. I saw bruises and after a few days when I touched my shins they hurt. So I bought a pair for $50. They were way more interesting, had lots of padding around my lower leg but nowhere else. Of course, in a few more Muay Thai sessions I had to learn the hard way again that it's best to protect the WHOLE leg. I was in really bad shape when a small area of my calf accidentally shifted sideways exposing my entire calf. I kicked my instructor who has been doing this for 7+ years and let's just say his shins were way tighter than mine. I almost broke my leg but I haven't trained for a couple of weeks. Enter these shin guards. Yes! They're expensive. But. Yes! Since then I do not have problems anymore. Yes! They fit great. Yes! They protect your entire leg. Yes! You can beat up your classmates and your instructor without even thinking about getting hurt. Basically I wasted $70 because I was cheap. Don't be me. Your body deserves the best protection it can get. To be smart.
