The refresh rate went from 30Hz to 60Hz, but the picture was terrible.
I bought a slightly larger new TV that doesn't support my computer's 30Hz frequency. On my old 4K TV it works fine at 30Hz so no converter needed. An old TV can also handle 60Hz. I tried the converter with both old and new TV. On both TVs, the input showed 60Hz and the new TV received a signal, but the picture quality was so distorted that it was painful to watch. Both HDMI cables were rated at 4k, 60Hz.
