Being new to the PopSocket world, I didn't realize that the original PopSockets grips were different from the PopSockets currently being sold differentiate. That's why Scosche formulated the product name that way. I received an Otter + Pop Symmetry package with a newer PopSocket. and I tried very hard to figure out how to remove the button before I figured it out! The original PopSockets grips had a removable knob that could be replaced. Newer ones have a built-in knob and accordion that you can twist to remove from the base and swap out; There is no way to remove the button to place a metal plate behind it. So they are gifted to a friend along with my Scosche magnetic phone mount because my new case needs a different setup.
