The two halves of the connector are held together by three small self-tapping screws that go through one half and screw into the plastic pins of the other half. Not only do these screws hold the two halves together, but they also take all the pulling force when the connector is removed. These screws don't go very deep into the posts on the other half and break easily even if overtightened a little. Pulling these screws out allows the two halves of the connector to separate exposing the 240V wires.
